Hot on the heels of their premiere at the Toronto Film Festival, Niki Caro and Keisha Castle-Hughes are to re-team for the charity premiere of new film The Vintner's Luck.

The star studded red carpet event at Auckland's Civic Theatre on Wednesday November 4, 2009 will be in aid of Variety - The Children's Charity.

Following the movie, guests are being given the chance to rub shoulders with the film's Director Niki Caro and star Keisha Castle-Hughes, both of Whale Rider fame.

Variety's CEO Lorraine Taylor says she is delighted that Hoyts Distribution has selected Variety as the charity partner for the event, the proceeds of which will help sick, disabled and disadvantaged children to reach their full potential.

The Vintner's Luck is a fantasy romance film produced and directed by Caro and was adapted from New Zealand writer Elizabeth Knoxs award-winning novel about an ambitious young peasant wine-maker in 19th century France and his life-long relationship with an angel.

Keisha and Niki have just returned from Canada where they promoted The Vintner's Luck at the Toronto International Film Festival, the premier film festival in North America.

General Manager of Hoyts Distribution, Elizabeth Trotman says, "I'm thrilled to be releasing this beautiful film, its a great opportunity to showcase the remarkable talent we have here in New Zealand."
Variety is the charity of the entertainment industry and is renowned for its fundraising movie premieres among other events and is dedicated to helping sick, disabled and disadvantaged children to reach their full potential.
