Style Blog loves showcasing the talents of up and coming, kiwi designers. A few weeks ago we discussed our love of Juliette Hogan and also Alexandra Owen and how their collections keep going from strength to strength.
This week we want to share with you our love of a great little label close to our hearts - twentysevennames. This is a truly directional label that is getting loads of attention both here and overseas.
Designed by Rachel Easting and Anjali Stewart, the two designers both have backgrounds in fashion design and art and the label is fast gaining a cult-like following by fashionistas world-wide.
From the labels conception four years ago, twentysevennames is not only available through NZ but also in stores across Australia, Hong Kong and the UK.
Rachel Easting herself was snapped for her sartorial chic-ness
(in her own label, naturellement!) last year in Sydney by none
other than Scott Schuman a.k.a
The
Sartorialist.
This simply translates as Rachel being one very cool lady in the world of fashion!
In Style Blogs' eyes, twentysevennames collections always evoke a feeling of yesteryear, with a distinctly 1960's flower power feeling mixed in with modern, fashion-forward designs.
Dreamy, hippy, soft and muted colours combined with retro-esque fabrics make the clothes appear pretty and somewhat girly but always seriously cool. The details and the masculine cuts serve to create edgy and seriously hip collections that are coveted by all those interested in fashion.
It's crazy to think that before we have even reached Winter this year, designers are already unveiling their Summer 2010/2011 collections to the media and those in the biz!
Style Blog were lucky enough to get a sneak peek at what's to come from twentysevennames Summer 2010/11 collection.
