TVNZ has today announced the time slot for Home and Away when it moves to TV2.
The popular Australian soap will be screened week nights at 5.30pm on TV2 from Monday August 19.
TVNZ secured the rights for the show after TV3 lost the contract to show it last week.
TVNZ's head of TV ONE and TV2 Jeff Latch said he was delighted to welcome the television series to TV2.
"We're delighted to give Home and Away fans what they want with this fantastic weeknight timeslot. They won't miss an episode as the first-rate storylines continue," he said.
With TVNZ Ondemand, the audience will also be offered even greater viewing choice and flexibility in getting their Summer Bay fix.
"Fear of missing out is strong among soap fans, which is why they're such big users of TVNZ Ondemand. Shortland Street alone racks up more than 160,000 online streams each week," Mr Latch said.
TV2 will also screen next day repeats of Home and Away at 11am as well as a two and a half hour omnibus on Sunday afternoons.
The television series, which has been running since 1987, is set in the fictional town of Summer Bay on the coast of New South Wales.
Home and Away is not new to TVNZ, having broadcasted the show between 1993 and 2002.
