Taylor Swift has played host and musical guest on US comedy show Saturday Night Live, using her opening monologue to tease Kanye West, Joe Jonas and Twilight star Taylor Lautner.

The country-crossover sensation opened the show saying she wouldn't be mentioning any of the things the audience were dying to hear about - well sort of.

Swift performed a song called Monologue Song (La, La, La), in which she discussed all the things she would not be discussing.

Kanye West, who infamously jumped the stage and grabbed the microphone from Swift as she was accepting an MTV award for Best Female Video in September, was just one of the targets.

"You might be expecting me to say something bad about Kanye [West]," crooned Swift. "But there's nothing more to say because everything's okay... I've got security lining the stage," the songstress teased as fellow hosts Bill Hader and Jason Sudekis joined her side.

Swift then tackled the subject of her break-up with Joe Jonas, who reportedly ended their relationship over the telephone.

"You might think I'd bring up Joe, that guy who broke up with me on the phone, but I'm not gonna mention him in my monologue," Swift continued with a grin, "Joe, I'm doing real well tonight, I'm hosting SNL".

Swift then all but confirmed her status with rumoured love and Twilight star Taylor Lautner, singing "And if you're wondering if I might be dating the werewolf from Twilight," before stopping to wave at the camera, mouthing "Hi Taylor," and blowing him a kiss.
