One of the most important items in your wardrobe this winter is
a coat.
A good coat should be completely versatile and work with what's
already in your winter wardrobe. It should flatter your body shape
and be the type of coat that will see you through several
winters.
Camel coloured coats are a perennial classic and always look elegant. We love Helen Cherry's one in wool and also her beige trench coat.
Country Road , David Lawrence and Yvonne Bennetti Yvonne Bennetti are also doing their own versions of the classic beige coat.
We also love Kate Sylvester 's soft wool trench coats in grey and dark blue. Helen Cherry's grey wool trench coat is another highly covetable piece to have this season. Pop it on over anything and you're good to go!

Knitwear
We love supporting wonderful Kiwi labels and that's why we love Standard Issue ! Standard Issue are an NZ institution and yet they always remain cool and on the pulse of fashion. Their soft woollen merino and cashmere knits are to die for!
Also Juliette Hogan has produced some gorgeous knits this season, perfect for the 1950's sex kitten in us all!

Boots
You know that winter is well and truly here when you start donning a boot everyday. Flat, high-heeled and short boots are must-have's for every woman's wardrobe with black, dark brown and tan the best colours to stick with.
Chain stores such as Country Road and Witchery always stock the latest designs that won't break the bank.
We also love Topshop boots and if you want to splurge, Net-a-porter is complete boot heaven!
Velvet
Many designers this season have fallen in love with velvet. It's warm and looks and feels luxurious on the skin. Check out the gorgeous velvet pieces Kate Sylvester has to offer. We are currently in love with Cybele's lux velvet dresses.
Faux Fur is everywhere this winter! There is something very decadent about fur (always faux mind you!)
Sera Lily , Trelise Cooper and Kate Sylvester all feature fabulous fake furs in their collections this season.
We love Zambesi's white furry Bedrock coat, its over-the-top but hey, isn't that what fashion's all about?
