Sydney is a city that is very dear to Style Blog's hearts.

We have both spent considerable parts of our lives there and one of us even went to school there. (Yes, the secret's out! Clifton is a bonafide Cronulla boy!)

One half of Style Blog recently got back from a quick jaunt over the Taz to our beloved home away from home, Sydney.

Without exception, the first port of call was (and always will be) a visit to our favourite department store down under, David Jones.

The flagship store located on Castlereagh street is in the heart of Sydney's busiest area. It is a must visit for any shopper.

Endearingly coined "DJs" by the locals, this massive department store stocks pretty much everything. Just name it and it will most probably be there. There are amazing accessories (including a fantastic millinery section), cosmetics, bags and of course fabulous clothes to boot.

We love the area that showcases all the young designers such as Alice McCall, Ksubi, Zimmermann, Shakuhachi, Natasha and Sass and Bide, to name a few. It also offers every type of jean you could think of under the sun!

Here are Style Blog's choices of some must have pieces from the young designers' new season collections:

Be prepared to have a lot of time up your sleeve and visit the main designer floor with fabulous collections from all the top designers, such as Akira, Willow, Collette Dinnigan, Lisa Ho and, of course, our very own Trelise Cooper. Go Kiwi design!

Our current must-haves from some of the designers' recent ranges:

Also, for jackets and tailoring we love going to Carla Zampatti and Bianca Spender.

Of course, when Style Blog visit DJs, we make a bee-line to the shoe floor! Imagine a whole floor just dedicated to shoes. It truly is shoe heaven. The choice is fantastic from Christian Laboutin, Jimmy Choo, Marc Jacobs, Bally, Yves Saint Laurent, Manolo Blahnik and Alexander McQueen (RIP).

Here are some of our faves:

After a gruelling day of shopping the best thing to do is lug those beloved black and white houndstooth patterned DJs bags over to the Men's department to do a spot of last minute shopping for that man in your life and give him a new, revamped wardrobe for the season ahead.

By this time, completely exhausted by now, it is time to go straight to the basement section of the men's department store where the food department is located. Here you will find the most delicious foods and beverages available to be bought or consumed on the spot if need be.

After a happy and fruitful day of shopping, there's nothing better than plonking yourself down on a seat at the wine and cheese bar and nibbling on an antipasto dish washed down with a glass (or two!) of delicious wine.

With DJs poster gal Megan Gale smiling down on you, you really feel like you have completed a successful day of shopping and (unless you have totally blown the budget) ready for round two the next day!
