We spend a lot of time at TVNZ working our magic to make all our stars look their very best before they go to air every night. One of the most important things we consider is hair.

A hairstyle frames the face and obviously has to be flattering and suitable for each individual.

On television and especially on digital TV, everything shows up! Stray hairs that have gone amok, frizzy bits sticking out and the general silhouette of the hairstyle all get blown up tenfold. Therefore, everything always needs to look immaculate and polished.

For that reason, we have a wonderful team of experts here at TVNZ, busy making sure our stars always have fabulous hair! It's really all about having a great haircut and a colour that compliments the face, finished off with an amazing blow-dry.

We Love:

Keratase nutritive nectar thermique
This product is great for blow-drying hair. Enriched with nourishing royal jelly, this heat-activated lotion protects and repairs hair as you style. Our team absolutely love it!

Moroccanoil
One of our fab team recently jetted over the Tassie to Sydney's Hair Expo and came back with all sorts of wonderful new tricks of the trade and laden down with incredible new products such as Morrocanoil.

This product is known in the biz as "liquid gold" for the hair and it has taken the world by storm. The Morrocanoil Treatment was recently voted by readers of Marie Claire magazine as a finalist in the "Prix de Marie Claire de la Beaute" as best hair care or styling product (in the splurge section).

Top Hollywood Celebrity stylists Robert Vetica and Mark Townsend swear by the products, especially the amazing argan-oil-infused Moroccanoil Treatment, Moroccanoil Styling Cream and the Moroccanoil Glimmer Shine spray. Check it out at the Morrocanoil website

Cloud Nine hair straighteners
We didn't think there'd be anything that could ever break up our relationship with our GHDs (short for Good Hair Days) but alas, there may be a contender!

Everyone is raving about the Cloud Nine hair straighteners that come to us from the makers of GHDs. The difference is that these ones are designed to offer the same level of straightening power at a lower and therefore less damaging heat.

There are six heat settings so it's good to have a play around to see which suits you best. There are also three models that have different plate sizes. These irons are feather-light and make all the other varieties really seem clunky and heavy. See them here.

Blow-dries
This is where the secret lies! Stay tuned for next week when we reveal our best blow-drying tips!
