TVNZ's style team checks out the Trenery and Trelise Cooper Summer 2011 Collections.

Trenery

Trenery has launched its flagship store in New Zealand at Westfield 227 shopping mall in Newmarket. This could well be your next one-stop shop for all the wardrobe basics.

The label aims for the 40 market and is seen as affordable luxury, specifically designed for men and women who are after stylish, well-fitted and elegant pieces that have a timeless quality about them.

Trenery is created by iconic Australian retailer Country Road and offers wardrobe essentials that are classic and yet contemporary in design with an emphasis on beautiful fabrics with simple details.

The key to Trenery's summer collections is simplicity and craftsmanship and here's what Sophie Holt, Creative Director of Country Road and the design force behind Trenery, says:

"I wanted a tightly edited, modern range with clean, simple details. For me, this collection is about everyday luxury and the pieces that count: Classics that should be in every wardrobe. As Country Road moves its focus to a younger customer, Trenery picks up the mantle as its grown-up sibling, but at its heart lie the same cornerstones of fashion ability, quality and value."

We love the simple tees, pullovers, trench coats and "throw on and you're good to go" kind of dresses.

So easy and effortlessly chic, while still at a great price point.

Trelise Cooper

This week, Style Blog attended a fashion show that launched Trelise Cooper's Summer 2011 Collections, held at Coutts Mercedes in Auckland.

We wished it was summer already! The wonderful collection was filled with many beautiful pieces that were totally lust-worthy.

Trelise's Summer 2011 Collection makes us think of long, hot summer days at the beach, swanning around a luxurious pool at a glam beach resort, or just being extremely fabulous at a "jet-set bohemian" kind of party.

Trelise's clothes are always whimsical and fun, yet seriously sexy and wearable at the same time.

The fabrics are always beautiful and there is amazing attention given to details.

The label's happy extroversion was accentuated by the models themselves who actually smiled and enjoyed themselves on the catwalk, as opposed to the usual poker-face "sans" expression look often adopted by models.

We Kiwis need more of this kind of fashion that isn't overtly serious or too sombre and dark. A cheeky sense of humour underlines the fact that fashion should be fun and not take itself too seriously.

Style Blog had already seen the collections a few weeks back hanging on a rack at Trelise's HQ. However, the clothes look so different when you actually see them on models strutting down a runway.

But the best thing about the show was the fact it was a charity event, with proceeds going to the Breast Cancer Cure Research Trust.

Here's what we love:

See you all next week!
