The Screen Actors Guild Awards (SAGs) are another fantastic frock fest of Hollywood A-listers looking their most glamorous best on the red carpet.

This year it was the young Hollywood starlets who stepped up to the mark and provided some strong colour and interest on the night while others opted for safer and more predictable ensembles.

The SAG Awards didn't really blow us away this year. We were left feeling a tad uninspired by it all. We were yearning for looks with the "wow" factor and yet in all reality, there wasn't really that much to write home about!

Hilary Swank
Hilary looked positively gorgeous in a Grecian style one-shouldered pale blush Versace dress with a VSB clutch.

Julianna Margulies
The actress looked a picture of chicness and class in a flowing red strapless dress by Yves Saint Laurent and YSL clutch. Julianna's centre-parted hair sleekly tied back into a pony-tail was effortless and sophisticated.

Amy Adams
Amy also opted for the sleek ponytail look but it was all a bit too severe on her. Amy showed off her fab figure in an extremely tight white bandage style dress by Herve.L.Leroux.

Natalie Portman
Heavily pregnant Natalie picked up the Best Actress award for the movie Black Swan. She radiated in a white strapless Azzarro gown and wore $2 million worth of baubles care of Tiffany & Co. The dress stylishly showed off Natalie's baby bump in a tasteful way. Overall, Natalie looked polished and elegant.

Mila Kunis
Mila is a beautiful young woman but she has a slightly evil look about her! However, we have to say that she looked pretty amazing at the SAGs in a stunning red Alexander McQueen dress and festooned in Cartier jewels. We loved Mila's hair: Drop-dead sexy waves. Her dress was age appropriate (unlike the Vera Wang she wore to the Globes!)

Lea Michele
Lea also looked a whole lot better than she did at the Globes. Remember the explosion of pink fabric she was swathed in! This time Lea paired it all back by donning a pale Oscar de la Renta number that featured a very plunging neckline.

Claire Danes
As we predicted, Claire looked great again. This time she went for a more romantic look, wearing a long strapless blue/green floral Louis Vuitton dress that was cinched in at the waist with a belt. The hand-stitched silk flowers appliqued to the dress apparently took hundreds of hours to do!

January Jones
January covered herself up this time in a gold and black filigree Carolina Herrera dress that had sleeves. We thought it looked pretty mumsy and too old for her.

Tina Fey
We were taken aback by Tina as she actually looked really good for a change! Tina is a constant serial offender of hideousness on the red carpet and yet this year she looked stunning in a strapless red Oscar de la Renta frock.

Sofia Vergara
Bombshell Sofia can't ignore her ridiculously curvy body. Whatever the girl puts on it turns into porn on her! Sofia wore a blue, figure-hugging Roberto Cavalli dress that featured an X-rated plunging neckline and some bling-bling for Africa thanks to a Chopard cuff. We loved the blue colour of the dress and we like Sofia despite her "Littlest Whorehouse in Texas" interpretations she loves to do on the red carpet.

Kim Kardashian
Kim is trying to tone down her look and even wore (for her standards at least) fairly minimal make up. The plum/purple Marchesa dress Kim wore was still rather OTT. The one-shouldered sari-like gown featured jewels around the bust and a weird cut-out at the side. It was just too much!

Hailee Steinfeld
Hailee looked age appropriate in an orange, pink and black striped Prada maxi dress. Let's face it though - she really just looked like a human liquorice allsort.

Nicole Kidman
Nicole looked elegant enough in a black Victorian-inspired dress by Nina Ricci. Did we mention boring! Was Nicole off to a funeral afterwards? And what was up with the weird collar/necklace thing? Also, poor old Nic was having a bit of a bad hair day on top of all this!

Jennifer Lawrence
It was great to see strong, vibrant colour again on the red carpet. We loved the hot pink colour of the Oscar de la Renta frock Jennifer wore at the SAGs but that was about it! There was too much going on with the dress and the belt just didn't work. Too complicated!

Christina Hendricks
Tsk, tsk, tsk! Oh Christina, you just can't help yourself can you? Christina wore a black sparkly L'Wren Scott wrap dress that featured (funnily enough) a plunging neckline again. Yet again, the look was terrible. The frock was like a showy bathrobe someone might don whilst getting ready before a drag show.

Winona Ryder
Winona wore a white strapless Alberta Ferretti dress that made her look like one of those dolls you used to get on top of a toilet brush back in the '70s. Wins did not look one bit comfortable on the red carpet. The poor darling had crazy "deer in the headlights" eyes to match.

Angie Harmon
The pink be-feathered strapless Monique Lhuiller dress featured a long train and it was waaaay too much. We know feathers are big this season but why kill an entire flock of birds for one dumb, "princess goes to the prom" frock?

Mariska Hargitay
We love Mariska and think that she is absolutely beautiful. The strapless blue Isaac Mizrahi dress really suited her even though it was a fairly predictable look.

All in all, while there were beautiful dresses amongst the "ho-hum" we're really hanging out for the real McCoy, namely the Oscars at the end of the month.

Yay, can't wait!

See you all next week!
