Last night, Style Blog checked out NZ Herald's Viva magazine collections. This show featured Autumn/Winter 2011 collections from Trelise Cooper, Yvonne Bennetti, Juliette Hogan, tkstore, Andrea Moore, Max, Vanilla Ink, The Carpenters Daughter and Carlson.
This winter, layering is huge again with many designers featuring some fantastic layering pieces. Faux fur and leather also were seen heavily throughout many collections as were oversized coats: a must-have for every fashionista's wardrobe this season.
Here are our 5 favourite labels from the collections held last night:
Trelise Cooper
Trelise Cooper's collection has an air of baroque grandeur with
a mix of feminine silks and wool suiting.
Carlson
Tanya Carlson's show had distinct French flavour that evoked St
Germaine of the 70's with juxtaposition between masculine and
feminine.
Tkstore
Turet Knuefermann always creates beautiful collections perfect
for sexy and confident women. This season we see lots of sumptuous
silks, fine knits, faux furs and sequins. We love the idea of
drapery mixed in with a body-conscious silhouette.
Yvonne Bennetti
Yvonne Bennetti's collection had a rich hippie vibe reminiscent
of style icon Jade Jagger. There was a mixture of designs that
featured jewel toned silk velvets, Chantilly lace, feathers and
cashmere wools.
Juliette Hogan
We love Juliette Hogan's current collection which has been
inspired by the TV series Mad Men. A great collection of saucy
pencil skirt, lady-like blouses and sophisticated classic looks
that have a hint of cheekiness about them!
See you at tonight's show which features Adrian Hailwood, and
Sabatini to name but a few!
