Is it too early to be plugging in the trusty electric blanket? There's certainly an icy bite in the air in the mornings and evenings now as we head towards the season to be "rugging up".

Without a doubt, Style Blog much prefer balmy, summery weather and its carefree, simple approach to dressing. All you have to do is just throw on a dress, a pair of heels and you're pretty much good to go.

However, there is something very inviting about layering up in warm, snuggly knits which are equally as appealing. Hibernation, here we come!

Max is a great place to go to when you are after good, basic essentials to stock up your winter wardrobe.

This season, all the beloved old faithfuls from winter are back to keep us all not just toasty and warm but, most importantly, super stylish!

Max's Winter II Collection has loads of great pieces that won't break the bank - and who doesn't love that?

There's so much to choose from: chunky, cable knits and long-line cardigans, merino cowl-necked tunic-style dresses, soft angora-looking slouchy oversized knits and nifty little coats. This is fuss-free dressing at its best.

The palette this season at Max is very muted with soft creams, beige, dusky pinks, stone, greys and charcoals taking centre stage. This is mixed in with purples and blue-based reds used as a shot of colour in amongst the neutrals. It makes the collection really easy to mix and match with each other.

Most looks can be based around either thick black opaque tights or skinny blue jeans paired back with flat riding boots.

Accessories dominate the collection with fabulous chunky knitted exceptionally long scarves (eat your heart out Doctor Who!), knitted oversized beanies and gloves galore.

See you next week!
