Kate Sylvester Spring/Summer 2011
With spring just around the corner and the winter sales just about over, we're looking forward to the wonderful new season collections that are starting to stream into stores.
One label we always keep a close eye on is Kate Sylvester. Without fail, Kate consistently delivers modern, tailored collections with ironic wit and charm. Kate's clothes are sought after both here and overseas because of their high concept appeal and just plain wearability!
Her latest collection titled This Charming Man captures the essence of what makes Kate's clothes so covetable. It mixes girly sweet and naive with toughness and masculine tailoring.
Kate wowed spectators at Australian Fashion Week in Sydney earlier this year, and you are going to love this new season's collection too!
This is what we can look forward to.
Kate Sylvester Womenswear and Sylvester S/S 2011
Pastels
This season, Kate uses a beautiful palette of hyacinth blues, corals, pale peach, avocado green and soft pinks mixed in with white.
Romantic looks
Baby pink tiered chiffon dresses, virginal-looking blouses and full-circle feminine skirts give the collection an innocent romantic feeling.
Sweet florals
The romantic vibe carries through with '50s inspired, delicate floral prints.
Military inspired detailing and stripes
Kate often throws in military detailing to toughen up the prettiness of her collections. She's also fond of a good Breton stripe, as we all are!
Masculine touches
Cute checked collars worn as an accessory bring the "boy" back into the collection.
We also have our eyes on the three-quarter length pants in khaki or black.
We also love, love, love the soft sand-washed silk jackets, shorts and cropped pants.
Lingerie looks
Sexy lingerie balances out the twee bouquet prints and boyish elements.
Clashing colour & pattern
Kate has fun mixing it all up and breaking all the rules from clashing colour (i.e. orange and pink) to clashing prints: stripes and checks, polka dots and retro floral prints.
Maxi dresses
These amazing maxi dresses are going to be a wardrobe staple this summer.
1970s looks
This era comes through in '70s style fitted chambray jackets with matching skirts and tan coloured leather A-line skirts.
The new season collection continues to arrive in all Kate Sylvester stores now, so be quick!
Happy shopping and see you all next week!
