The start of 2012 has definitely been a soggy one with an incessant deluge of rain, rain and more rain!
Finally it looks like the sun is starting to come out and we might actually be able to hit the beach. So now's the time to start thinking about purchasing a great swimsuit.
A good bikini is a swimwear "must-have" and there really is a flattering design for each and every woman out there.
The bikini has come a long way from when it was first officially invented by French engineer Louis Reard and fashion designer Jacques Heim back in 1946. It was named after the nuclear test site Bikini Atoll in the Pacific Islands because it was thought that as a concept, it was racy enough to cause a reaction similar to an H- bomb.
Our first port of call when looking for swimwear is to head to Blue Dude Swimwear. They always have such an amazing selection of all the best swimwear brands on hand; Jets, Seafolly, Vitamin A and Moontide, to name a few.
Athletic:
Athletic types who are straight up and down suit traditional
bikinis that are reminiscent of the 1970's. There's a really 70's
looking crochet look-alike design in store right now that would be
perfect for any beach babe who just wants to "Hang
Ten".
If you really are a confident extrovert, go for strong colour
and a graphic pattern. Show that bod off to its maximum
potential!
Petite:
Petite ladies with a small to medium bust look fab in strapless
bikinis. This summer, go for a white bikini: perfect for the beach
and showing off your bronzed limbs.
An alternative is to go all retro with a cute red and white
polka dot version.
Curvy:
Curvy gals with a decent bust, small waist and a sexy booty
should always go for structure. Look for underwire and padding in
the bras for extra support.
Bold colours and fun details are huge right now. We love the
flirty 1950's looking red number with the flounces: perfect for
flaunting an hour-glass figure!
Have fun out there and see you all next week!
