Indecision got the better of Kirsty Parkhill as she became the third contestant to be fired by big boss Terry Serepisos in The Apprentice.
This week, contestants were set the business challenge of promoting and selling a new Magnum ice cream.
The teams were supplied with Streets ice cream carts and promotional props, and they needed to make as much money as possible.
Team Athena's Parkhill was confident she would lead her group to victory and volunteered to project manage. But confusion followed as the team set to work and Parkhill's strategy fell apart.
A tactical error in location and issues with restocking left Athena short, their final sales figure came in second best to Number 8 again.
Back in the boardroom, advisor John Mitchell told Parkhill she was absent as a leader.
"I thought things were running smoothly at Britomart, and felt my presence was needed at the caravan which was having location trouble," Parkhill replied.
She acknowledged her error of judgement but said her advisors let her down.
Serepisos disagreed with her.
"While the whole team did make mistakes, you (Parkhill) ultimately failed to show leadership," he said.
Serepisos then fired Parkhill.
The Apprentice New Zealand continues on Tuesdays 7:30pm, TV2, where the remaining 11 contestants compete to become the apprentice to Wellington businessman Terry Serepisos, with a salary package worth $200,000.
