Lee Davies may have made it through week one but his luck did not last long as he became the second contestant to be fired by The Boss Terry Serepisos in The Apprentice.
In the second task of the series both teams had to devise a promotion for the launch of a new product from the Dan Carter fronted underwear company, Jockey.
Marketing expert Davies felt out of his comfort zone when placed in charge of promotional activity.
"I run a whole marketing company, I know every aspect of marketing. I was reduced to sales, and I found that extremely frustrating," he says.
Friction was also evident in Number 8 with a few disagreements between him and the team, and a general feeling that Davies was operating on the sideline. He acknowledged this, saying: "I feel like there are six odd ones out, and I'm the only one in."
Once in the boardroom, Serepisos questioned whether there had been any bullying, which the men denied, but the hostility between Davies and his team was clear.
Singled out to remain in the boardroom alongside Daniel Phillips and Paul Natac, Davies defended his position saying project manager Phillips had mismanaged him.
"Personally, how he was managing me, I thought his management skills were quite poor," Davies says.
Serepisos fired Davies, citing his arrogance and inability to listen as his downfall.
