Trade Me is being flooded with auctions for U2 tickets after the one-off show sold out in under an hour this morning.

Around 80 listings have been made, many of which have a 'buy now' price far higher than the retail price.

General admission went on sale this morning at 9am, with tickets ranging from $40 to $100.

'Buy now' prices on Trade Me are as high as around $350.

In excess of 50,000 tickets were sold for the one off show on November 25 at Mt Smart Stadium.

The Irish band's 360 degree tour will be opened by Jay Z.

Following the show in Auckland, the band will travel to Australia for shows in Melbourne, Brisbane, Sydney and Perth.

The band has visited New Zealand five times before, most recently in 2006.

There is no confirmation of a second show.

Are the Trade Me auctions for U2 tickets fair game or an outrageous rip-off? Have your say on the messageboard below.

Wouldn't it be nice, just occasionally, to live in a world where people thought of other's before themselves.

My daughter and I tried to get tickets online as soon as they were available. But it was impossible to get any in our price range unless the whole family wanted to sit apart. And then these scalpers try to sell those same tickets for 100s of dollars more...Come on Trade Me, you can do something about that.

I believe this is a rip off. They brought the tickets knowing they were not going to go and they knew they were going to place on trademe for a higher price. I reckon when purchasing a ticket there should be terms and conditions saying that you are not allow to sell them online or at the gate.

Personally, I saw U2 around the late 1980's (i think), great concert at Athetic Park Wellington. I think these people that are trying to make money (though enterprising) is not on.Trade should ban this practise as there are many other ways to sell these tickets for legitimate people that unfortuateley cant make the show for one reason or the other.I believe it is giving teademe a bad name and I hope they will do something about this. If U2 did another show it w'd bring the prices down on TMe.
