Swedish pop due Roxette have cancelled their only New Zealand show.

A statement released tonight by promoters Live Nation said singer and guitarist Per Gessle fell ill during his flight from Stockholm to Auckland.

"Despite the best efforts of all involved with the tour, it has not been possible to schedule an alternative date for the Auckland show within the already demanding tour schedule," said the statement.

The concert was to be held at Auckland's Vector Arena this Saturday.

Live Nation said credit cards used to book tickets online or by phone will be refunded within five working days.

People who bought their tickets from Ticketmaster can get a refund from the outlet they bought the ticket from.
