A trailer from Ridley Scott's Robin Hood has been posted online and the film looks to be pretty intense.

The film starring Russell Crowe, Cate Blanchett and Matthew McFadyen (known to most as Mr Darcy in Pride and Prejudice) will be released in 2010. It purports to tell the story behind the legend - how an archer fighting the Norman invaders became the legend we all know.

Scott's re-make looks grizzlier than previous film versions of Robin Hood and the romance between Robin (Crowe) and Maid Marian (Blanchett) is nowhere to be seen - it's all swords and arrows.
