Rihanna's grandmother has died.
The 24-year-old singer's elderly relative Clara 'Dolly' Brathwaite passed away on Saturday in New York after losing her battle with cancer.
Rihanna paid tribute to her late grandmother on her twitter
page, writing: "Goodbye grangranDolly get your beauty rest until I
see you...
"grangranDolly that is all."
The 'Where Have You Been' hitmaker then posted a series of intimate pictures of her grandmother and herself on the micro-blogging website.
One image showed 'Dolly' wearing a baseball cap, while another, a black and white photo, revealed a touching scene of the pop superstar holding her relative's hands.
Rihanna knew her grandmother was nearing the end of her life and she repeatedly jetted back and forth to New York so she could spend time with her.
The musician received a message of condolence from her ex-boyfriend Chris Brown's mother Joyce Hawkins via twitter.
Joyce tweeted: "@rihanna ANGEL MAY GOD BE WITH YOU AND YOUR FAMILY IN YOUR TIME OF SORROW. LOVE YOU ANGEL. (sic)"
Rihanna replied with the message: "@mombreezy thank you! Love u mama. (sic)"
