Prince William wants to be a hands-on dad

Published: 2:15PM Monday December 03, 2012 Source: BANG Showbiz

Prince William will be a hands-on father.

The Royal, 30, is eager to start a family after his marriage 19 months ago and wants to bring up his kids without the help of a team of nannies, a friend of his wife Kate has claimed.

"William is very much like his mother, Princess Diana, and will definitely be a hands-on dad and not rely heavily on nannies to raise his and Catherine's children," said Duchess Catherine's friend Jessica Hay.

"They both try to be as normal as possible in their private lives and that of course is going to continue when they have children."

She said all of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge's friends think the couple will make wonderful parents.

"Everyone's always said what great parents they'll be, since they are such a caring couple and very relaxed," Jessica added to Life & Style magazine.

"They will lavish love on their children."

William and Duchess Catherine have spoken about their desire to have children in the past, with the Prince previously saying he would like two children.

And speculation about when a Royal heir will arrive has closely followed them since their lavish wedding last year.

Rumours that Catherine may be pregnant feature frequently in gossip magazines.

Recently speculation about whether the Duchess was expecting was fuelled after she was spotted drinking what looked like water in a wine glass during the Royal couple's trip to South-East Asia earlier this year. She was also photgraphed placing her hand on her stomach in a "maternal way".
