British royal hopeful Kate Middleton has been caught up in a drug scandal.

The long-term girlfriend of Prince William has hit the headlines after her millionaire uncle, Gary Goldsmith, was caught boasting about his royal connections during a tabloid newspaper's drug sting.

The News of the World claims Goldsmith attempted to distribute cocaine and ecstasy to its undercover reporters and introduced a pimp to supply hookers.

As well as boasting about his royal connections during the sting, Goldsmith also claimed his niece and Prince William are to announce their engagement sometime this year.
