Swiss security experts are preparing Roman Polanski's Alpine chalet for the movie director's house arrest.

The 76-year-old has been in custody since September.

The United States wants him extradited for raping a 13-year-old girl in 1977.

A commercial security service team has entered the director's home in the exclusive resort of Gstaad.

A condition of Polanski's house arrest is that he must be fitted with an electronic monitoring bracelet that would detect if he tries to leave the chalet.

Authorities say Polanski can be moved from jail to the chalet once the bracelet is working, probably on Monday.
