Brad Pitt has taken a swipe at fellow Hollywood heavyweight Tom Cruise, saying his World War II film is better.

The 45-year-old actor has told Stern magazine that Cruise's Nazi-related flick Valkyrie is ridiculous.

Pitt, who stars in director Quentin Tarantino's Inglourious Basterds, told the German magazine that there is no comparison between the two movies.

"It was a ridiculous movie," Pitt said, in reference to Valkyrie.
