Paris Hilton has claimed she thought the cocaine she was charged with possessing at the weekend was "gum".
People reports Hilton also denies owning the small plastic "baggie" that fell out of a purse she was carrying.
The baggie contained 0.8 grams of cocaine and Hilton now faces a low-grade felony drug possession charge that would get her probation if convicted.
Hilton said the purse she was carrying when was stopped on the Las Vegas Strip was not hers, but one she borrowed from a friend.
Las Vegas police said she had an explanation for them when the baggie fell out of the purse.
"She had not seen it but now thought it was gum," the officer's report said.
