This week Style Blog attended the VIP preview of Lancome's "Juicy Designs for a Cure" national campaign, held at Smith & Caughy's in Auckland.

Lancome Juicy Tubes are probably the world's number one lip gloss and some women are known to be completely addicted to them! It could have something to do with the formula i.e. how many women actually imbibe half the gloss they wear on their lips all day? It's gotta taste good, right?

The "Juicy Designs for a Cure" campaign features top New Zealand designers rallying together for an amazing cause - to do their part to find a cure for breast cancer in less than 10 years. Breast cancer is a disease which affects one in eight women in New Zealand. One in eight! Can you believe it?

It's always wonderful to see that fashion and make-up is not always as frivolous and inane as some make it out to be.

Trelise Cooper, Zambesi, Helen Cherry, Ruby, Stolen Girlfriends Club and Karen Walker have all designed their own signature, totally original and thoroughly collectable scarves to complement their favourite gloss hue.

What's more, the scarf design is repeated on their individual limited edition lip gloss.

For just 50 bucks, you get an amazing designer scarf and a Juicy Tube lip gloss! You can't beat that!

Ten dollars goes straight to helping fund The Breast Cancer Research Trust's projects which are vital to finding a cure.

The aim is to raise $80,000. The scarves and Juicy Tubes will be available nationwide from June 25.

Here is a sneak peek at some of the cool scarves!

From fashion with a conscience to fashion just for fun!

Style Blog glammed up last Friday and headed off to Mt Smart stadium to attend a special "Ladies night" put on by Spy and the Herald on Sunday.

A team of ladies in the media and a select few of their favourite lads trekked out in the appalling weather for an evening of fun and frivolity. Oh and let's not forget, to see the Warriors play the Knights . Go Warriors!

The Herald had turned on manicures for all and giant LCD screens for those without the constitution to brave the cold outside in the stands. Oh, and there was also an open bar! The bar served drinks one might expect at TGI Fridays - strong, REALLY strong! (As I'm sure a few of us would have realised the next morning and one in particular later on that night. No comment!)

The contrast between people at the party and the fanatic league fans just metres away was an interesting dynamic. I think this was one time that we at Style Blog felt completely out of place!

We have to admit we felt a tad ridiculous in our finery at the footy. We all clambered up the hill at the east gate of Mt Smart, most of the ladies teetering on toothpick-like heels, surrounded by a sea of polar-fleece clad and beanie-donned league-mad fans that kept appearing out of the gloom en masse.

Oh well, if Posh Spice aka Victoria Beckham does it at every one of her hubby David's games, it's good enough for us.

Going to a game in the heart of winter is never going to be a place for directional fashion looks. It's all about survival tactics: Clothes that will keep the cold at bay, clothes that will be able to soak up excess spillages of the ultimate rugby beverage all good kKwi fans love to swill i.e. Lion Rouge also known as Lion Red, maaaaaaaate!

Hence, Style Blog was pleased to see the attire of the Warriors fans ticked all of those boxes...

If you want to see more party pics from the night, including one of Tamati Coffey getting his nails done, go on to the Spy column in the Herald on Sunday.
