Kings of Leon are making their fourth visit to New Zealand and each time they return to more and more fans, having sold 100,000 albums in the country.
Band members wear their popularity respectfully but they do still laugh about what the media writes about them.
"The stuff that we read is hilarious. We get up to some crazy stuff but the stuff they come up with is way better," says Caleb Followill, band member.
The three brothers and one cousin from Nashville are named after their grandfather and father who are both called Leon.
"All of our family is behind us 100%. I think they miss the fact we don't get to spend much time with them but they appreciate how nice the Christmas presents we're getting them are," says Followill.
Wednesday night's Auckland concert sold out in just minutes and two tickets on Trade Me are skyrocketing to around $400 - not bad for a band who say they are still improving.
"It's beautiful when you get up there and hear the crowd and you feel it, but to be honest a lot of days we will walk off and everyone is buzzing and thinking it's the greatest show then we think it could always get better," says Followill.
The Kings of Leon play Wellington Friday and in Christchurch on Sunday.
