Joan Rivers mistaken for illegal immigrant

US comedian Joan Rivers has been quizzed by British officials after being mistaken for an immigrant illegally entering the UK.

Four border patrol officers descended on Ms Rivers as she disembarked from a fishing boat on the Swale Estuary near Kent, after they received a tip-off regarding a suspicious group of people.

She was questioned for several minutes along with her daughter Melissa and a TV crew before officials recognised her.

Ms Rivers was filming a segment for a new TV show and says she found the incident amusing.
