Sandra Bullock's husband, Jesse James, has gone back to work amid intense speculation about the state of his marriage.

People quotes a source as saying James was "very quiet" during his first day back at West Coast Choppers.

"He seems very upset but also very happy to be back at work," the source says.

James has been accused of cheating on his Oscar-winning wife with tattoo model Michelle "Bombshell" McGee.

Bullock, who married James in July 2005, has left their marital home.
