Michael Jackson's doctor Conrad Murray is expected to be charged with involuntary manslaughter by US authorities this week.

His lawyer says Murray is ready to answer any charges relating to the popstar's death.

He is understood to have travelled to LA from his home in Texas, in anticipation of possible charges.

ABCnews online sources says that if the doctor is charged, he plans to cooperate with authorities, adding that he would likely be indicted through a criminal complaint rather than by a grand jury if charges are laid.

Murray allegedly gave Jackson, 50, several doses of powerful painkillers and anaesthetics just before his death.
The doctor has been the principle subject of the homicide investigation into the popstar's death.

According to ABCnews , Murray found Jackson dead in the singer's LA home before trying to resuscitate him, then asking an employee to call an ambulance.

A statement later released by the coroner said Jackson had died fron an overdose of anesthetic propofol. The sedative benzodiazepine also contributed to the singer's death, the coroner said in the report.

Murray has denied any criminal wrongdoing.
