Michael Jackson's doctor will be charged in connection with the pop star's death next week, the Los Angeles District Attorney's Office has confirmed.
LA prosecutors say charges will be filed against Conrad Murray on Monday, followed by an arraignment hearing.
One source close to the case says Murray, who has been under investigation for months, will be charged with involuntary manslaughter.
Late on Friday an attorney for Murray, Ed Chernoff, said the doctor had agreed to surrender himself.
The doctor has admitted giving the late pop singer a dose of the powerful anaesthetic propofol as a sleep aid.
He was at Jackson's house at the time of the pop star's death in June last year and has been a focus of criminal investigations for months.
The Los Angeles coroner's office ruled that Jackson's death was a homicide, caused principally by propofol and the sedative lorazepam.
A cocktail of other painkillers, sedatives and a stimulant were also found in his body.
Murray, a cardiologist, has repeatedly insisted he did nothing wrong and has told investigators he was not the first doctor to give Jackson propofol, according to court records.
