Oscar winner Charlize Theron has reportedly spent four days in hospital with a serious virus.
According to American tabloid National Enquirer, Theron's boyfriend Stuart Townsend took her to Cedars-Sinai Medical Centre in Los Angeles after she suffered severe abdominal pains that would not go away.
It is believed she contracted a virus while travelling overseas.
The National Enquirer reports Townsend as saying: "I was scared to death. I had no idea what was happening to her, but this is a woman who never complains, so I knew it had to be serious."
