Kiwi singer Hayley Westenra is engaged to marry her long term French partner, according to reports in the UK.
The 24-year-old Christchurch singer has been dating Arnaud Sabard, a French sound engineer, for some years.
He proposed to her during a recent trip to New Zealand, according to UK media reports.
A family friend was quoted by London's Evening Standard as saying: "Hayley and her Frenchman, Arnaud Sabard, came to stay for a couple of days and, exciting news, they became engaged.
Westenra has just returned to her London base after spending Christmas with her family in Christchurch and is due to launch her Paridiso tour in Britain.
She tweeted a photo of herself recording in a London studio today but made no mention of her engagement.
