Gabriel Aubry wants US$20,000 (NZD$24,992) per month in child support for looking after his daughter with Halle Berry.
The 36-year-old model is also asking the judge in his custody war with the Golden Globe Award-winning actress for US$500,000 in attorney's fees.
Aubry was in court yesterday, expecting to argue his case for the large increase in child support.
However the case was continued because the paperwork wasn't filled out properly.
Apparently Aubry was extremely upset that the matter was put off according to insiders.
Sources told TMZ that Aubry believes he's entitled to the money because he needs a proper environment to care for four-year-old Nahla.
Berry wants to move with the child from Los Angeles to Paris, which would have a direct impact on Aubry's request for additional support.
However Aubry is fighting against the move and their judge has yet to officially make a decision.
The 45-year-old star has previously spoken about relocating to France with fiance Olivier Martinez, in favour of the country's laws which will protect her offspring from prying eyes.
She said: "Laws that protect children, protect right to privacy.
All I want is for my family and myself to have a normal life. When
I'm not at work, that's very important to me."
