Final Twilight film trailer arrives

Published: 10:42AM Thursday June 21, 2012 Source: ONE News

Today's release of the trailer for The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2 has caused a collective rejoice from 'twi-hards' throughout the world.

Twilight's production studio, Summit, released the minute long clip, which opens with Bella Swan (Kristen Stewart) admiring her new-found vampire form.

"After 18 years of being utterly ordinary, I finally found I could shine. I was born to be a vampire," Bella says.

Many fans took to social networking site Twitter to point out that today is Edward Cullen's (Robert Patterson) 111th vampire birthday, but it is Bella who is the real star of the teaser for final film installment.

"You're so beautiful," Edward tells the now red-eyed Bella - the key characteristic of a vampire as detailed in Stephenie Meyer's bestselling books.

"We're the same temperature now," he says.

Fans also get a peek of Bella and Edward's half-human, half-vampire daughter, Renesmee (Mackenzie Foy), whose extraordinary birth was depicted in the first Breaking Dawn film.

Of course hiding a half-vampire child is not without its challenges, and the trailer shows Bella using her newly acquired skills to protect her daughter from the powerful council for vampires - the Volturi.

"She was born, not bitten. She grows every single day," Bella tells the Volturi, who believe Renesmee is an immortal child - a type of vampire that is too powerful to be allowed to live with humans.

Werewolf Jacob Black (Taylor Lautner) also makes an appearance in the trailer, telling Bella, "I didn't expect you to seem so, you," referring to her immortal transformation.

The trailer has had nearly 120,000 views on You-Tube this morning alone.

Breaking Dawn - Part 2 is due to be released in New Zealand theatres on November 15.
