Police have charged a 53-year-old man with trying to stalk teenage star Miley Cyrus after he was arrested a month ago for attempting to reach the actress on a movie set, police in Georgia said on Thursday.

Mark McLeod, who has told police he is secretly engaged to 16-year-old Cyrus, was charged with attempting to stalk the star on the set of her latest Disney film, The Last Song, on Tybee Island, near Savannah, Georgia.

Cyrus is best known for her Disney role as Hannah Montana but is now branching out into other movie and musci projects.
