Sir Peter Jackson has released the exclusive poster for The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey on his Facebook page today.
Along with the artwork, the director wrote: "Hi everyone. Here's an exclusive Comic Con poster. Be sure to get your copy in San Diego and let me know what you think of it! Cheers, Peter J".
The poster, featuring actor Ian McKellen as the wizard Gandalf with Waikato's green hills behind him, will be handed out at San Diego's Comic Con this week.
Last night the cast of The Hobbit movies celebrated wrapping up 266 days of shooting.
Martin Freeman, Elijah Wood, Orlando Bloom, Cate Blanchett and Sir McKellen were among the stars who have jetted out to New Zealand for filming, which began in March 2011.
On Friday Jackson took to his Facebook page to share his delight after completing the two blockbusters, The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey and The Hobbit: There And Back Again.
Freeman, McKellen and Jackson are all scheduled to appear at a panel at Comic-Con.
The first Hobbit movie, based on JRR Tolkien's classic novel, is due for release in December, while the second instalment will hit theatres in December 2013.
