English singer-songwriter and heartthrob Ed Sheeran will make a guest appearance on Shortland Street tonight.
The appearance is the 23-year-old's first shot at an acting career, Shortland Street actor KJ Apa told TV ONE's Breakfast this morning.
"He learned his lines 10 minutes before and he was still really good," 17-year-old Apa, who appeared in the scene with Sheeran, said.
"We did about six takes but it kinda seemed like it was natural to him."
The singer reportedly filmed the show while he was in New Zealand for his April 30 concert in Auckland.
Apa, who plays Kane on the show, says "everyone" on the Shortland Street set was taking photos with the singer after his short filming session.
Shortland St screens tonight, 7pm, TV2.
