Canadian pop star sensation Justin Bieber says he not only loves New Zealand, but also Kiwi girls.
Bieber arrived last night to a swarm of frenzied fans, leaving some in tears as he was whisked away by security.
On the back of hysteria in Sydney this week, security was tight at the airport with Bieber exiting the terminal via a side door rather than the main terminal exit. He was quickly bundled into a waiting car.
Today, he treated hundreds of screaming students to a private concert at Auckland's Strathallan School - the gymnasium going wild when the 16-year-old announced he's single and on the lookout for a Kiwi girl.
He performed six songs and later joined some of the students in a music lesson.
Afterwards, Bieber said the concert was good fun and he loves New Zealand while his fans called the concert the best day of their lives.
Despite a police and ambulance presence in case fans got out of control, the visit ran without incident.
Earlier, Bieber plunged head-first into Kiwi culture with a bungee off Auckland's Harbour Bridge .
The jump gave an indication of just how tiny the tween megastar is - at 160 centimetres the singer weighs in at just 48 kilos, proving that you can be a lightweight but still draw the crowds of a music industry heavy hitter.
After the jump Bieber posted a video of it on his Twitter account saying: "BUNGY!!! I love New Zealand!!"
Bieber shot to fame after being discovered on YouTube where his
mother had posted videos of him singing at talent shows. He was
signed up by rapper Usher's record label Island Def Jams Music
Group at the age of 14.
His album "My World 2.0" hit the No. 1 spot on the Billboard charts
in the United States within a week of its release last month.
A public concert in Sydney was called off by police who said teenage fans were in danger of being crushed.
Bieber says he is off to Paris next before a full tour of North America.

Hes not 12, hes 16 so theres no pedophilia going on. Although i agree that the aggresiveness of some girls were inappropiate, and he probably doesnt WANT to come back to NZ now anyway.

He is a You Tube baby with no real talent. Like another reader aluded to, the media stunts are pathetic and the media should also take some responsibility.

What a waste of air time!!.. Annoys that people get carried away with something/ someone of 'who gives a sh@# talent'. More important things in the world. Just because he's somehow portrayed as the next big thing...theres' al this attention...pop drivel at best.

Those girls were big bullies when they pinched a hat from a younger smaller person (regardless of how cute Justin Bieber is). Our schools need to develop better anti-bullying and anti-harassment programmes so that teenagers learn that it's not OK to be a bully.
