The final band added to the Big Day Out bill has been announced, with Auckland band Pop Strangers emerging victorious from a nationwide battle conducted through the bNet radio stations and Groove Guide magazine.

Auckland band Pop Strangers have bounced their way into indie kids' hearts with a string of warped singalongs on their self-titled, debut EP.

Pop Strangers, are billed as one of the most exciting new bands in town. Their sound combines a Doorsy psychedelic swoon with fast/slow dirty/angelic dynamics.

Big Day Out organisers have also announced the Silent Disco is also returning to electrify disco dancers with their mixes of dance, hard house, punk, salsa, twenties swing, alternative, world, electro, hardstyle, gabba and Dixieland, all through the convenience of wireless headphones.
