Organisers of this year's annual Armageddon Expo in Auckland at the ASB Showgrounds are hoping predictions of bad weather won't keep the masses away.
The annual event gives the fans of all things geek the chance to get up close and personal with not only the latest games and gadgets but stars of the big and small screen.
This year, stars of TV2 shows The Vampire Diaries and Supernatural are in Auckland for the three day event which runs over Labour weekend. Also attending are Temuera Morrison talking about new film Fresh Meat, and Bruce Boxleitner of Tron and Babylon 5 fame.
But it's not just about the guests - with Cyber Game Tournaments, National Skateboarding Championships, Paintball, Comic Guest Panels, IPW wrestling stars, eating contests, Trading Card Tournaments and even a 10-foot tall Armageddon Burning Man, it's a mixed bag in entertainment for the entire weekend with the largest offering of its kind in Australasia.
There's even previews of the latest games heading to the Christmas market.
Last year's event saw 44,000 fans through the gate, the biggest since the show began back in 1996.
The Armageddon Expo runs from Friday to Monday.
