Singer Amy Winehouse has pulled out of a London anniversary concert for her record label, her management said on Saturday.

The Grammy-award winning artist was due to headline the concert at the Shepherd's Bush Empire on May 31, one of a number celebrating 50 years of Island Records.

"Amy would like to apologise to her fans who bought tickets for the show," the record company said.

No reason was offered for her withdrawal, which follows an abortive appearance at a rain-hit jazz concert in St Lucia earlier this month that disappointed fans.

Reports said Winehouse, who has battled against drug addiction, appeared to forget words and told the audience at the show she was bored.

Earlier this week Winehouse was taken to hospital in St Lucia, where she is recording her third album, complaining of chest pains, a spokesman told the Daily Mirror.

The London concert was also due to feature Jamaican reggae group Toots and The Maytals.
