Ali Pugh has been named the new co-host on TV ONE's Breakfast, replacing Toni Street.
She will officially join Rawdon Christie on the couch from Monday morning, TVNZ head of news and current affairs John Gillespie announced.
"She is a big asset to our news team as a reporter, and now has proved she has what it takes to front Breakfast," Mr Gillespie says.
"Viewers have told us they enjoy watching Ali in the role and I know they’ll enjoy seeing her continue alongside Rawdon every morning."
Pugh worked as a reporter and producer for Breakfast in 2009, before she became a ONE News reporter in Christchurch in 2011.
It's great to be back on Breakfast, she says.
"It’s one of the best jobs in the business and has been a fantastic two weeks. I’ve always been really passionate about the Breakfast show and am looking forward to an exciting year ahead.”
