It's been a relatively good year for films.
In terms of box office, thanks to some big occasions (like New Moon) figures have been pretty high - some would argue the cinema does well historically during recessionary times because we head there to seek entertainment and avoid the drudgery of our lives.
However, just because we head to the popcorn and cinema, doesn't necessarily mean it's been a vintage year.
While most people are doing reviews of the decade, I reckon it's important not to forget what we've seen this year - some of which has been eye opening.
(Also, my memory's not as good as it used to be)
With that in mind, it's time for the first ever Dazzles and Dazzie awards for 2009.
The Dazzles are those films which are just great and really made me remember why I love heading to the cinema.
The Dazzies (and with no disrespect or more importantly, copyright infringement to the Razzies) are handed out to those films who made 90 minutes (or in some cases, longer than that) incredibly hard going.
So without further ado, and in no particular order, here's what I reckon was best about 2009 - and why. (If you reckon I've missed something out, comment on our message board - Twihards, I'm looking at you!)
