Burying Brian
Four ordinary New Zealand women, closely connected by shared history and friendship, meet regularly to drink and talk. One night, the women rail against men in general and husbands in particular. Jodie, leading the charge, goes one step further - to hell with divorce, she wishes Brian were dead.
But then, later that same night, after a loud and raucous argument, Jodies wish comes true. Brian lies dead and bleeding on the kitchen floor. An accident of course, but it looks bad - very bad. Oh dear.
She turns to her friends for help and they come through. A decision is made that will change their lives forever. They help Jodie bury Brian and cover up his death by convincing the world that he has run off with another woman.
From that moment on, nothing is straightforward.
Layer by layer the stories they have told themselves and each other are exposed, poked, prodded - and sometimes lacerated, until the truth is revealed.
