Box Set - Country Calendar Pick of the Bunch
The Country Calendar team love getting out into the rural backblocks and meeting people who are passionate about what they do on the land and sea. This boxed set brings together two of our most recent collections so you can enjoy nearly seven hours of rural insights and viewing pleasure from TV ONE's longest-running and hugely popular series.
"Country Calendar Director's Pick" is a special collection put together by long-time Country Calendar identity Frank Torley. During Frank's years on the show the programme has put over 900 episodes to air, so how did he choose just a dozen stories? Frank says he went on gut feel. Of his selection, he says: "Are they the best? No! Are they memorable?Yes to me, anyway."
Among those memorable choices are five great yarns from the South Island high country, an East Coast wild cattle muster, plus stories about grapes, fishing and lots more. And along with the action, we meet some truly wonderful people.
"Country Calendar Goes Green" reflects the history of a major growth area in New Zealand farming - organics. It features stories dating from 1976 through to the present day and covers a wide range of enterprises from dairying to wine, as well as introducing us to people who have a vision of the future, and the passion to make it happen.
