Initial jury selection for the Bain retrial has been made.
David Bain will go before the High Court in Christchurch on Friday, charged with the murders of his parents and three siblings in Dunedin in 1994.
Bain was found guilty at his first trial in 1995 and served 12 years before the Privy Council ruled there had been a miscarriage of justice and quashed his convictions. He was released on bail following the council's decision.
A bid to have the retrial stopped has been turned down.
Jury selection began on Monday when 250 gathered to sign in for jury duty. A smaller pool of 80 is due on Friday for the final selection of 12 jurors for the three month trial.
