Rebecca Hobbs
Actor Rebecca Hobbs' contribution to the New Zealand film and
television industry has included work both in front of and behind
the camera.
Most well known for her roles on
Shortland Street as nurses Annie Flynn and Kate
Larsen, Rebecca has also had roles in Holby City, Water Rats,
Hercules, and most recently Burying Brian. She won an international
best actress award for her performance in the feature film The
Ugly.
Rebecca is also a scriptwriter, having written for the
drama series Street Legal, Mercy Peak and Interrogation. She
cocreated the acclaimed children's series P.E.T. Detectives.
However it is her short film, Tick, which she wrote and directed,
that she is most proud of. Tick was selected to open the 2002 New
York Film Festival.
Rebecca, who is the sister of fellow competitor Chris, has no
previous dance training but has both fingers firmly crossed.
