Pakistan cricket captain Younis Khan is out for revenge in next week's limited over series against the Black Caps in the United Arab Emirates.
New Zealand are on a five-match winning streak against their most enigmatic opponents, a sequence which culminated in their five-wicket Champions Trophy semifinal victory at Johannesburg on October 3.
The manner of that Pakistani defeat briefly raised questions about their professionalism, particularly the conduct of Younis, who was among the soft dismissals before shelling an easy catch at a critical point of New Zealand's run chase.
Younis resigned in the wake of unproven allegations of match fixing, only to return last week.
"New Zealand did very well in the Champions Trophy and I hope we could avenge our defeat by playing as a team against them," Younis told Kolkata's The Telegraph newspaper on Monday.
Younis said New Zealand's strength was teamwork, and Pakistanis need to learn that from them.
"If you look at the New Zealand squad, it is one of the three teams along with Sri Lanka and Australia, who play well as a unit," he said.
Playing conditions would be similar for both teams in the UAE, and neither side would be unduly advantaged, Younis said.
"What matters is how well we play as a team."
