Troubled New Zealand cricketer Jesse Ryder looks set to cop a fine for using offensive language in a Plunket Shield match.

Ryder made two centuries for the Wellington Firebirds in their win over the Central Stags last week, his first competitive game back since he took a self-imposed break from cricket.

However during he match Ryder was reported by the umpires for a Level One breach of the New Zealand Cricket Code of Conduct by using 'language that was offensive and insulting'.

The commissioner's report proposed a fine of $750.
