Reece Young
DOB: 15/09/1979
Playing style: Wicket-keeper
Batting style: Right-hand bat

The Auckland-born keeper waited patiently for more than a decade, accumulating runs and keeping things tidy behind the stumps before finally receiving a Test call-up for the Pakistan series in January 2011. It proved an easy step up for a man of his vast experience, and his patient 57 in just his second Test helped the Black Caps out of a dire position. One of the most consistent run-scorers in domestic cricket and a precise gloveman, Young is a smart and respected cricketer with over a 100 first class games to his name, and has plenty more cricket left in him despite his advancing years.
